Shelf life and storage of flavour concentrates.
Flavour concentrates have a shelf life of approximately 1 to 2 years depending on the date of production and the type of flavour. For best practice, store in a cool dry place away from heat and light.
Why do flavours change colour and why do some have strong unpleasant smells?
Heat, light, and oxygen exposure are the most common factors causing color changes in flavours over time. As many flavours are naturally sourced, variations in harvest times can also attribute to these colour changes. Also, there are some flavours which will have an unpleasant smell as their high concentrations will distort their true diluted flavour profile. Professional super strength concentrates will sometimes have these effects, though this is normal.
Flavor Specification Sheets, MSDS/SDS and Certificates of Analysis.
Flavour Specification sheets may be attainable by emailing us, or the flavour producer directly for a request for the flavour you would like information on. Flavour specifications are continually updated by our flavour suppliers. Our MSDS and Certificate of Analysis may be found through links at the bottom of this page.
